Background Information About Turkish Language

The Turkish Language is known as an Altaic Language because it is originated in The Altay Mountain Range in Northern Siberia.

The Turkish Language originated in The Altay Mountain Range in Northern Siberia centuries ago. For this reason it is called an Altaic Language. The nomads brought their language with them to Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and other countries and cultures at the same time as they moved further into Asia Minor.

Even though local usage and vocabulary, spelling and alphabet may differ many of these languages are multi-intelligible. Nevertheless they all exhibit the same grammatical structure of agglutination and vowel harmony.

Turkish Language is spoken from the borders of Greece to the hinterland of Western China; there may also be some affinity with the Hungarian, Finnish, Korean and some of the indigenous American Indian languages.
